Overview
Every Task in CUBE has a status that reflects where it stands in the workflow. Statuses help team members and project managers track progress at a glance — without needing to open each task individually. You can update a Task's status directly from the Task's Properties panel at any time.
CUBE provides three built-in Task statuses:
- Open — the Task has been created and is awaiting action or is actively in progress.
- In-Review — the Task has been completed by the assignee and is awaiting review or sign-off by another team member.
- Closed — the Task has been reviewed, approved, and is no longer active.
Prerequisites
- You must have access to the project and the Space containing the Task.
- You must have sufficient permissions to edit Tasks in that Space (typically Editor level or above).
Changing the Status of a Task
- Open the Project and navigate to the Tasks module.
- Locate the Task whose status you want to change. You can use the list view, filters, or search to find it.
- Click on the Task to open it, then open the Properties panel (typically accessible from the task detail view or by clicking the Properties icon).
- In the Properties panel, locate the Status field.
- Click the Status field and select the new status from the dropdown — Open, In-Review, or Closed.
- The status updates immediately and is visible to all users with access to the Task.
When to Use Each Status
Open is the default state when a Task is created. Use it for tasks that are newly assigned, in progress, or require further action before they can be reviewed.
In-Review signals that the assignee considers the work done and the Task is ready for someone else to check. This is useful for maintaining accountability — the assignee marks it In-Review, and a reviewer or project manager takes the final action to close it.
