Items

Item is a basic entity in a project having a quantity, rate, unit and unique code that can be added to an estimate. Items are essentially unique, which means no two items will be the same in a cost database. Items from a cost database can be referenced or used in estimates which are created in a project.

Items can also directly be created in an estimate, for e.g. as a Market rate item. Items can be grouped in a hierarchical manner in an estimate to make it more presentable and easy to understand. You can read more about creating items in this article.

Each item has a unit, which can be selected from the provided options and additional units can also be defined (if required) as per standards followed in your region or country. These aspects can be configured from Portal settings, and you can read more about it here.
